Vibgyor N.E Foundation, which is registered with the Niti Ayog (NITIDARPAN Unique Id: AS/2019/0248583), has been spearheading various activities across Northeast Bharat & beyond in the environment and sustainable development domains.
The Foundation organized the first-ever Northeast Green Summit in 2016. This was the first such initiative in Northeastern Bharat to ensure sustainable development of the region with an integrated approach.
The journey of LokManthan started in 2016 and has evoked massive public response. LokManthan 2024 – aimed at bringing together thousands of artists, thinkers, intellectuals and social activists from across the country – is a cultural mahakumbh that reshapes narratives and equips the nation to embrace its civilizational role. Conceptualized as a ‘Colloquium of Nation First Thinkers and Practitioners’, the fourth edition of LokManthan – to be held at Bhagyanagar during November 22-24,2024 – will, like its previous editions, provide a common platform for intellectuals and those excelling in diverse fields to contribute to the idea of Rashtra(nationhood).Devoted to the consciousness of our nation’s unity, humane values, and Lok collection, LokManthan is organized by Prajna Pravah, an organisation that works to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Bharat’s cultural and intellectual heritage.
Visualised as a pre-LokManthan event, the Chhattisgarh Green Summit will promote the Lok (janjati) traditions of sustainability, environmental consciousness and community engagement, deeply embedded in Chhattisgarh’s janjati eco-system since time immemorial. Besides amplifying the core values of LokManthan, the Summit aims to highlight the rich and diverse natural and cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh, showcase the inter-linkages and focus on the need for an integrated approach for sustaining this heritage. The Summit will strive towards preserving, maximizing and developing the potential of the unique biodiversity zone of the State through various awareness programmes highlighting, amongst other things, the multifaceted sustainable practices of Chhattisgarh’s janjati people and their perspectives on environment, which would also be a learning experience for the participants. The discussions will link and draw lessons from science, culture and market mechanisms. It will also dwell on threats posed and strategies to deal with climate crises.
